As a bioethicist, I specialize in analyzing the complex connections between socio-cultural context and mental health practices. I have experience offering ethics consultations for a diverse range of clinical, research, and institutional projects. In my clinical ethics work, I specialize in cases involving youth and adolescents, as well as patients from marginalized populations including immigrants, refugees, racialized persons, and gender minorities. I have also helped psychiatric researchers and mental health practitioners develop critical bioethical reviews of research protocols and clinical guidelines for psychedelic-assisted therapies. My practice is informed by my lived experiences as a racialized person with South Asian, East African, and North American cultural heritage.
